One of Jerome’s most famous ghost stories involves a hospital maintenance worker, Claude Harvey, who allegedly died in the elevator shaft, crushed by the Otis elevatorein 193, during the hospital’s operation. Is he still riding the elevator to this day?


This site begs to be visited, as numerous sightings of spirits unfold a very active haunting. Some sightings include a lady in white observed walking the hallways is believed to be a nurse that once worked in that unit. Another is that of a caretaker who took his own life in the boiler room in the basement.

• Elevator movement when the elevator is inactive

• Footsteps near the shaft

• Sudden cold spots in surrounding hallways
