Soul Burst Phenomenon: Death's Supernova

There is a moment that happens upon the time of death when the soul's energy seems to perform an energy surge. The phenomenon is intriguing around those that are here to explore questions on topics such as what happens when we die? Do we have souls? What is the soul made of? What happens at the moment of death? How do we experience death? And so many more. To help answer these questions from paranormal research circles, a lesser-known term has begun to surface:
The Soul Burst.
It is not yet a formally recognized scientific classification, nor a widely documented spiritual doctrine. Instead, it lives in the overlap—reported in fragments, described in random observations of those present at a death, and experienced in ways that defy easy language.
But when you begin to examine the patterns, something intriguing emerges.
What Is a Soul Burst ?
A “Soul Burst” can be described as a sudden, overwhelming expansion of awareness by the soul upon death—often accompanied by the energy of the soul radiating outward from the body upon death.
Unlike Near Death Experiences, which occur at the edge of life, Soul Bursts are typically reported by individuals who are observers of another's death:
The experience may last seconds… or stretch into what feels like eternity.
And afterward, many report the same thought:
“Something left the body—or expanded beyond the mortal form—and then was gone.”
The Core Experience: Common Characteristics
Despite cultural and religious differences, NDEs often follow a remarkably similar pattern. These shared elements suggest something deeper than random brain activity.
Though still under explored, reports of Soul Burst-like experiences share several striking similarities.
1. Sudden Energetic Expansion
Individuals describe a powerful surge often described as overwhelming in both energy and awareness.
2. Remnants Lead to a Haunting
Investigators often find areas where numerous tragic or unexpected deaths take place that this soul burst-given the right environment such as a heavy quartz laden geography-may be captured in the natural environment. This energy then fuels hauntings in that area.
3. Heightened Perception
With enough luck and timing, some have captured what they believe to be the spirit leaving the dying body.
4. Emotional Overload
Because hauntings associated with this particular type of energy field that essentially captures some of the soul burst and holds it environmentally, paranormal investigators often look for particular emotional influences. These emotions may generate different energies during a soul burst.
Awe
Fear
Euphoria
Anger
It is not always peaceful—but it is almost always meaningful. How the death/soul burst unfolds may fuel the haunting. The more particular emotional circumstances are found seem to directly correlate with why some environments echo with a haunting while other environments do not.

The Differences: Near Death Experiences and Soul Bursts are Two Different Experiences Around the Single Event, Death.
While the structure may be similar, the details vary in fascinating ways.
Not a Near Death Experience
A Near Death Experience (NDE) is where one loses the thread of life, experiences some sort of beyond or other realm of consciousness, then the soul/consciousness returns back into the material body.

A Soul Burst is that final bursting of energy from the human form as it permanently transitions to the next plain of existence. This seems to be the entiretly of the spirit and is a final and irreversible transition unlike NDEs.
This next part is completely conjecture on this author's part. I do not and have not come across in my studies of NDEs, experiencers indicate a finality in their NDE or describing a bursting of energy as they leave their human form. They do describe that their existence during the NDE seems to feel infinite in size. NDE experiencers have the choice to continue onward or not. However, due to the nature of the finality of death, we may never know in this plain of existence what that soul burst experience is like until we experience it ourselves. Therefore the conjecture comes that a soul burst is the entire reserves of energy housed in the human form that is ejected upon death and that the NDE may not have their entire energy form separate from the body while they experience their NDEs.
Scientific Theories: A Quantum Entanglement Theory
From a scientific perspective, the Quantum Entanglement Theory may be one explanation for how a soul burst is connected to a Near Death Experience.
Quantum Entanglement is the phenomenon where particles become linked, sharing a single quantum state regardless of distance between them. When one particle changes (the choice of death is made), the other immediatly reflects this state.
My theory is that the NDE is experienced first by the person experiencing death. The NDE concludes when the experiencer chooses or has the choice made for him or her that this is the moment of their final death. When that choice is made, a soul surge happens due to Quantum Entanglement.

A feeling of “remembering” something ancient
A shift in how they perceive reality afterward

Whether viewed through the lens of neuroscience or spirituality, the Soul Burst invites a profound question:
Are we contained within our bodies… or merely focused through them?
For those who have experienced Near Death Experiences, the answer feels less theoretical—and more like a memory waiting to be understood through the lenses of science or spirituality.
Because sometimes, in a fleeting and overwhelming instant, we don’t leave the body—
we outgrow it.
Is death simply our spirits outgrowing this plain of existence taking the shape of some sort of equivalent of a star's super nova? For now, because of the finality of death where the soul burst is observed and as a rarity at that, we have only theories and conjecture that explain the paranormal phenomenon.
But that is what draws this author to these subjects like a theoretical physicists tackles subjects in the quantum universe, I try to explore the subjects in the metaphysical that call to be explored.
There are experiences that challenge what we think we know about consciousness. The Soul Burst may be one of them—quietly reminding us that the edges of the soul/self/consciousness are far less defined than they appear.
